In the Top ET class Kelly Bridges of Osceola, IN, currently holds the number 10 position with some 10 plus racers very much still in the running to jump into contention. In the Modified class Tracey Muchler is currently holding onto the number 10 spot with another 10 plus racers anxiously waiting for their chance to get into the Top 10 to become eligible to win this engine giveaway valued at over $20,000.00, including last year’s winner Dennis Geeting of Muskegon, MI.
In its second year many supportive sponsors have committed to participate once again in this highly popular program designed by Engine Pro for US 131 Motorsports Park. DART Machinery has generously supplied the block, CNC heads and manifold for the 565 cubic inch Big Block Chevy engine.
Other sponsors contributing to this racing engine include valve train components from COMP Cams, performance crankshaft from SCAT, engine bearings from Clevite, performance gaskets from Victor Reinz, oil pan from Stef’s Performance’s B&B Performance and Pro Finish Powder Coating. Pro Finish will be powder coating parts of the engine and as a consolation prize they are offering a $250 gift certificate to a racer who does not win the engine giveaway.
With all these specialized components, this engine will be completely assembled by Performance Engineering of Jenison. Performance Engineering is highly regarded in this industry for their professionalism and quality work.
To determine eligibility each racer must enter into the track’s bracket racing series in either the VP Racing Fuels Top ET or Extreme Salon Modified class. The winner will be determined by taking the top 10 racers in point standings in each class at the conclusion of the points race on September 5th. This is a double race day and one that will see tough competition just prior to the Funny Car Nationals presented by CARSTAR. All qualified racers will have their names placed in a hat and the names will be drawn by participating racers until only one name is left, the winner.
