SPEED SHOW PINKS ALL OUT THIS WEEKEND

US 131 SPOKESPERSON STEPHANIE PETERSON SAYS: “IT’S SOMETHING EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT AND WE EXPECT A HUGE CROWD on SATURDAY.”

THE EPISODE IS SET TO AIR SEPT. 24 on SPEED

PINKS All Out , the popular grassroots drag racing reality show, will visit one of Michigan’s newly redone racing facilities when it shoots an episode for Season Three at Martin’s U.S. 131 Motorsports Park on Saturday, July 11. The show, presented by NAPA, will premiere on SPEED this Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET.

US 131 Motorsports Park is situated just south of Grand Rapids, located on the Western side of the state. The most recent episode of the show shot in Michigan took place at Milan Dragway in 2007, where more than 28,000 people attended. Stephanie Peterson, who heads marketing and public relations for US 131 Motorsports Park and has been instrumental in the dissemination of Michigan Tourism’s highly successful ‘Pure Michigan’ campaign, talked about the television shoot.

“We’re pleased and honored to be hosting PINKS All Out,” Peterson said. “The positive effects of PINKS All Out for the state of Michigan tourism will be a tremendous one.

“We have been told by many racers from both professional circuits that we have one of the top tracks in the nation,” Peterson added. “To partner with PINKS All Out and SPEED on an event of this magnitude is a perfect relationship. It’s something everyone is talking about and we expect a huge crowd on Saturday.”

PINKS All Out is hosted by creator Rich Christensen, and offers grassroots drag racers and opportunity to win $18,000, a new NAPA tool chest and their shot at appearing on the national cable television network, SPEED. The object of the competition is for competitors to run their cars ‘All Out’ during two time trials sessions, while show technical advisors Brian Bossone and Kail Christensen try to locate the closest field of 32 racers based on elapsed time.

Each shoot is open to the public, with ticket information available at www.us131msp.com or by calling 269.672.7800. For more information on PINKS All Out, log onto www.SPEEDtv.com.

PINKS All Out , called the ‘Woodstock of Drag Racing,’ by Summit Motorsports Park President Bill Bader Jr., is an entire day’s worth of on track racing and off-track activities, culminating at dusk in the running of the final 16. As part of the midway, which will feature many interactive track displays, the SPEED Mobile Theatre will be on hand providing air-conditioned entertainment and autograph sessions, while on-track fun often includes jet cars, wheel standers, a wheelie competition and a variety of professional and amateur drag racing equipment.
