Nascar is the biggest auto racing event held in the world. The three largest races that are a part of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (Nascar) are the Sprint Cup Series, the Camping World Truck Series and the Nationwide Series. The 53rd Nascar Sprint Cup began on February 20, 2011 with the Daytona 500 at the Daytona International Speedway. Forty-three racers qualified including well-known Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and of course the winner, Trevor Bayne.
The top ten best drivers in Nascar has been tallied according to the current standings after the 26th Race, the Wonderful Pistachios 400 that took place at the Richmond International Raceway. In the tenth place is Dale Earnhardt, Jr who is tied in points with the ninth place holder, Tony Stewart. In eighth place is Ryan Newman, a 19 year veteran and in seventh place is Kurt Busch. In sixth place is Jimmie Johnson, a racer who got his start racing motorcycles. In fifth place is Carl Edwards, fourth is Matt Kenseth and in third is a crowd favorite Jeff Gordon.
